Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Jeni ("we", "us", "our"), operated by DeaRx Technologies, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using Jeni, you agree to the practices described here.

This page is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. For legally binding terms, please review this policy with your legal counsel.

1. Who we are

Jeni is a product of DeaRx Technologies. DeaRx Technologies is incorporated and operates in Ghana.Jeni is a digital companion for reproductive health across seven life stages — puberty, preventing pregnancy, preparing for pregnancy, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause — through education and tracking. It does not replace a clinician.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at:

  • Email: hello@jeni-repro.com

2. Information we collect

2.1. Information you provide to us

We collect information that you provide directly when you use Jeni, including:

  • Account details such as name, email address, password, and contact information.

  • Profile and health information, such as date of birth, menstrual cycle data, symptoms, lifestyle habits, goals, health conditions and history, allergies, readings such as blood pressure or blood sugar, clinic visits, and other health details you choose to track.

  • Information shared during assessments, questionnaires, or coaching interactions within the app.

  • Communication content, such as messages you send to our team, feedback, or support requests.

  • Messages you send to the Jeni assistant in the app.

  • Photos and files you choose to upload, such as prescriptions, lab results, and challenge photos.

2.2. Information we collect automatically

When you use our website or apps, we collect certain technical information needed to run, secure and improve the Services. Third-party analytics collection in the mobile app is optional and described in section 2.3.

  • Device information (e.g., device type, operating system, mobile device identifiers).

  • Log data (e.g., IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of use).

  • Usage data, including features you use, actions you take, and engagement with educational content.

  • Cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how you interact with our Services.

2.3. Optional third-party analytics

If you choose “Allow third-party analytics” during mobile-app set-up, or turn it on later in Settings → Third-party analytics, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure broad app use and reliability.

With that permission, Google may receive:

  • App opens, sessions, broad engagement, and approved non-health product events.

  • Technical information such as app version, operating system, device type, language, and an IP-derived country or region.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, we do not show adverts, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

We do not intentionally send Google health information, cycle or pregnancy information, symptoms, medicines, diagnoses, care records, assistant conversations, names, email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers, free text, precise location, or raw screen paths. We do not use health information for advertising and do not sell it. Google processes the limited analytics data it receives under its own privacy terms.

You can withdraw this permission at any time in Settings → Third-party analytics. Turning it off stops future third-party analytics collection and does not affect health, care, reminder, or subscription features.

2.4. Information collected only when you use a feature

  • Your device location, when you look for care nearby, check outdoor weather tips, view Ramadan fasting times, or see local food prices. See section 7.

  • Barcode numbers, when you scan a medicine or food pack with the camera. See section 7.

2.5. Information from third parties

With your permission, we may receive information from third parties, such as:

  • Authentication providers (Google or Apple) to help you sign in securely and link your Jeni account.

  • Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and RevenueCat, for the status of subscriptions you buy in the mobile app, and our payment provider, Paystack, for other purchases. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

  • Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), if you choose to connect them in the app. See section 6 for details.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and maintain your Jeni account and profile.

  • To provide personalized insights, recommendations, and educational content tailored to your fertility and health profile.

  • To track your progress, symptoms, and habits over time and display them in your dashboard.

  • To enable features such as partner invitations, shared plans, and communication with professionals where applicable.

  • To communicate with you about your account, important updates, reminders, and support messages.

  • To improve and develop our Services, including analytics about how the product is used and which features are most helpful.

  • With your permission, to measure broad app usage and reliability using Google Analytics for Firebase. We do not use health information for this purpose.

  • To protect the security and integrity of our Services, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)

Where required by law (for example, in the EU/UK under GDPR), we process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Your consent, for example when you choose to enter sensitive health information or opt into certain communications, third-party analytics, or Jeni's use of Google's AI.

  • Performance of a contract, such as providing you with access to the Jeni Services you have registered or subscribed for.

  • Compliance with legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.

  • Our legitimate interests in improving our Services, ensuring security, and providing a safe experience, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal or health information. We may share your information in the following limited situations:

  • Service providers: With trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, analytics, email, payments), under contracts that require them to protect your data. These include:

    • Google (Gemini), only after you allow it in the app. Gemini processes messages you send to the Jeni assistant, and the parts of your journey you allow Jeni to use, in order to write replies. When you scan a lab report or vaccination card, Gemini also reads the photo or PDF to fill in the values for you to check. You can withdraw this at any time under Settings → Jeni and Google AI, which turns off Jeni's AI features.

    • Google Analytics for Firebase, only if you allow third-party analytics in the mobile app. It receives the limited non-health app-usage data described in section 2.3.

    • Apple, Google and RevenueCat, which process subscriptions bought in the mobile app. RevenueCat receives your Jeni account ID and your purchase history, not your health information.

    • Paystack, which processes other payments.

    • Twilio, which sends text message and WhatsApp reminders, only if you turn them on.

  • Public information databases: Some lookups (medicine names, food names, barcodes, condition codes, and rounded locations) are sent from our servers to public databases, without your name, email or account details. See section 8.

  • Healthcare or coaching professionals: Where our Services enable you to connect with professionals, we may share relevant information with your explicit consent.

  • Legal and safety: When required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others (for example, responding to legal requests or preventing fraud).

  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or other corporate transaction, where your data may be transferred as part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Apple Health and Health Connect

Connecting Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) is optional. Each feature below asks for only the data it needs, when you turn it on in the Jeni app, and you can say no to any of them. The rest of the app works without it.

6.1. What we read, and why

  • Workouts (exercise sessions) and steps, in Movement, to fill in your activity log and weekly active minutes on days you have not logged activity yourself.

  • Weight, if you turn on "Sleep, heart rate and weight" in Movement or add weigh-ins from your phone in Weight, to add one weigh-in a week to your weight log for weeks you have not logged one yourself.

  • Sleep and resting heart rate, if you turn on "Sleep, heart rate and weight", to show your weekly picture of rest and recovery on your phone.

  • Sleep, if you turn on sleep from Apple Health or Health Connect in Sleep and rest, to show last night and your 7-night average and to fill in hours slept and wake-ups in your sleep log. You can change these before saving.

  • Blood pressure, blood sugar and weight, if you turn on "Fill readings" in Health, under Readings, to save the readings you choose to your readings, like readings you type in. Deleting one keeps it from being added again.

  • Workouts, steps and sleep, if you turn on "Tick from Apple Health" or "Tick from Health Connect" in your fertility plan, to tick off habits such as active minutes, steps and hours slept for today and the two days before.

Reading in the background: once you turn on Movement or weigh-in syncing, Jeni checks for new workouts, steps and weigh-ins about once an hour, even when the app is closed, so your logs stay up to date. Turning these features off stops it.

What we write: only if you turn on "Save Jeni sessions", the guided movement sessions you finish are saved as workouts. Jeni writes nothing else.

6.2. Where it is kept

  • Activity days, weigh-ins, readings and fertility plan ticks filled from this data are stored with your Jeni account, encrypted in transit and at rest, so they are available on all your devices.

  • Sleep and heart rate stay on your phone. The exception is a sleep log you choose to save, which keeps only a rough range (for example "5 to 7 hours, 1 to 2 wake-ups").

  • Data already added stays in your logs until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting your account removes it after 30 days (section 10).

6.3. What we never do with health app data

  • Use it for advertising, or sell it.

  • Share it with data brokers, advertisers or information resellers.

  • Use it to decide whether you can get credit, a loan or insurance.

  • Use it to train AI models.

  • Let our staff read it, unless you ask us to (for example for support), it is needed for security, or the law requires it.

  • Share it with your partner. Partner sharing never includes health app data.

Readings you add from Health Connect or Apple Health are saved like readings you type in. If you allow Jeni's AI features and choose to let Jeni use your readings, Google (Gemini) processes them only to write the reply you asked for (section 5).

6.4. Your control

You can disconnect each feature at any time in the app, and remove Jeni's access in your Apple Health or Health Connect settings. Disconnecting stops new reads. You can delete data already added from your logs, or ask us to delete it as described in section 11.

The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Movement sharing with a partner: if you link a partner, your movement week is private until you turn on "Share my week". Your partner then sees only your active days and minutes for the current week, never your weight, notes, or health app data. Walk-together requests and cheers you send are delivered to your partner as notifications.

7. Location and camera

The Jeni app asks for your location only when you use a feature that needs it, and only while you are using the app. We do not track your location in the background. Location is used to:

  • Show care providers, clinics, hospitals and pharmacies near you, with directions.

  • Give heat, sun and air-quality tips for moving outdoors.

  • Warn you about heat, dust and poor air on days that affect your health conditions. Only your rounded location is sent to the weather service, never your conditions. Today's plan uses location only if you have already allowed it; it never asks.

  • Show Ramadan fasting times for where you are, if you choose.

  • Work out your country for local food prices.

For weather and Ramadan times we round your location to about 1 km before it leaves our servers. We use your location to answer the request and do not save it to your account. To show the name of your town, your phone's own map service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android) looks up the place name on your phone. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

When you scan a medicine or food pack, the camera reads only the barcode number. Jeni does not take or keep photos. The barcode number is used only to look up the product.

8. Public health and food information

To answer some questions, our servers look things up in public databases. They receive only what is needed for the lookup, never your name, email or account details:

  • Medicine names, for name suggestions, pregnancy and breastfeeding information, and recall alerts (U.S. National Library of Medicine and U.S. Food and Drug Administration).

  • Food names and barcodes, for nutrients, allergens and ingredients (USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts).

  • Health condition codes, for plain-language information about a condition mode you open (MedlinePlus, from the U.S. National Library of Medicine). Only the condition is sent, never who it is for.

  • Your rounded location, for weather (Open-Meteo, or the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) when Open-Meteo is unavailable) and Ramadan times (AlAdhan).

Nearby health facilities and local food prices come from data we keep on our own servers (OpenStreetMap and the World Food Programme), so these lookups are not sent elsewhere. Your Ramadan fasting choice and the country you pick for food prices are stored only on your phone. The full list of sources is in the app under Settings → Data sources.

9. How we protect your information

We use technical and organizational measures to help protect your personal and health information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure. However, no system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

10. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to certain limitations (for example, where we are required to retain information for legal or regulatory reasons).

When you delete your account in the app, it is deleted 30 days later, and you can cancel before then. Your account and data are then deleted. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Jeni's access to your Apple ID.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Accessing the information we hold about you.

  • Requesting correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Requesting deletion of your data, in certain circumstances.

  • Restricting or objecting to certain types of processing.

  • Withdrawing consent where we rely on your consent for processing, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

  • Turning third-party analytics on or off in the mobile app under Settings → Third-party analytics.

  • Turning Jeni's use of Google's AI on or off in the mobile app under Settings → Jeni and Google AI.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@jeni-repro.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request. You can also use our account deletion request form if you would like us to remove your account.

12. International data transfers

Jeni may process and store information in countries other than where you reside. When we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

13. Children's privacy

Jeni is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app or via email.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

15. How to contact us
